Troy Deeney has spoken his opinions on a few of Everton’s underperforming players before of the match at the Amex.

Deeney provides an open assessment on Arnaut Danjuma.

Speaking in real time on talkSPORT’s White and Jordan program, the former Watford striker thinks that Everton’s off-field problems shouldn’t affect the players’ output.

He stated, “It shouldn’t [points appeal play on players’ minds].”

“They have to win the game in any case. The essence of simplicity lies in just going about your work. They need to prepare for the worst-case scenario, in my opinion, which is that this is where we are and this is what has to be done.

“I believe Sean Dyche is currently doing a fantastic job of safeguarding his players. I probably ought to have completed it myself.

Deeney criticized Arnaud Danjuma’s performances and recommended that the Dutchman improve.

Why do we constantly seeing them in this circumstance when they are such a good team? “As players, we need to step up. I know there’s been a lot of nonsense off the field,” he continued.

“There is more work for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to do. The wide lads need to step up, and Douc (Doucoure) needs to keep doing what he’s doing.

Deeney is correct regarding Danjuma. It is up to the winger to step up. Although injuries have taken their toll, Evertonians weren’t expecting the former Villareal winger to make five Premier League starts.

It will be up to one of Dyche’s underachieving offensive players to seize the initiative and lift Everton out of the bottom three as the team struggles to score goals.

It’s difficult to predict who will be Everton’s savior.
