Chris Sutton smashes Celtic manager Peter Lawwell in a new Ibrox title admission for Rangers

If the current upheaval at Parkhead persists for the foreseeable future, Celtic manager Peter Lawwell might as well be “handing Rangers the title,” according to Chris Sutton.

After 26 games, Philippe Clement’s team leads the Scottish Premiership table by two points over Brendan Rodgers’ Hoops thanks to their thrilling 3-0 victory over St Johnstone the previous game.

Sutton has attacked Celtic for the recent disturbances at Parkhead, implying that the Gers might not be winning the title race even if he has maintained that there is still plenty to play for until the end of the season.

He remarked, “I did note Lawwell saying that there remains a long way to go, all to play for and it being about uniting behind the team for these purposes,” in a Saturday, February 24, Daily Record article. That, for their benefit, I do fully agree with. They must construct a boundary beneath the mayhem and disturbance.

They might as well give the title to the Rangers at this point if it continues. Throughout his two seasons with the Celtics, Rodgers has always been the target. He will now assume the role of hunter.

This late in the season, Celtic just cannot afford to be making any more errors. Even though the Rangers aren’t flawless, Philippe Clement is enjoying himself.

“I keep hearing that Celtic still has the advantage because they have players who have competed in the past, but the problem lies with the players in the squad who haven’t.”

It’s not gone forever. Not at all. However, it will require a concerted effort, and the past must be put behind us. May will arrive, providing the accurate and conclusive title response.

Can Rangers win the Scottish Premiership by defeating Celtic?

There’s a confidence and energy about Clement’s team that the blue half of Glasgow hasn’t felt in years, and the atmosphere around Ibrox right now is far better than it was at Celtic Park.

The Gers haven’t been flawless, as Sutton indicated, but they have managed to win games on a regular basis and dispel the notion that they are a team of losers, which has dogged them for the majority of their recent past.

However, the Premiership is still unwon and a lot may happen between now and May. Rangers must continue to win in order to put pressure on Brendan Rodgers’ team until the end of the season. They haven’t been granted the championship yet.

The Gers just cannot take their foot off the accelerator now as they try to kick on and stir up some controversy this season. This title competition is probably going to come down to the wire.
