Rangers injury news as Philippe Clement shares Todd Cantwell update ahead of Hearts clash.

Rangers manager Philippe Clement has revealed that Todd Cantwell would miss a “few weeks” due to injury ahead of the Gers’ match against Hearts.

During his pre-match press conference on Friday (23 February), the Belgian announced that the English attacking midfielder would miss Saturday’s (24 February) match against Hearts due to a treatment period.

Cantwell was substituted after 60 minutes in the Light Blues’ 3-0 victory over St Johnstone last time out, but Clement has indicated that the return of Kemar Roofe will strengthen the Gers’ chances against Steven Naismith’s side.

According to Rangers on X (23 February), Clement stated that Todd Cantwell will be out for a few weeks, which is regrettable but expected in football. Kemar Roofe trained this week and will be in the squad for tomorrow.

Will Todd Cantwell be fit for Rangers against Hearts?

It is a significant loss for Clement and Rangers to be without Cantwell for their match against Hearts on Saturday, as the Englishman has finally began to regain his best form under the Belgian as a key member of his side.

At his best, the 25-year-old can easily win a match for the Gers due to his exceptional ball control and creative flair, something few other players at Ibrox possess. Losing him at this point in the season is a massive loss.

Clement anticipates the English midfielder to be out for a few weeks, indicating a lesser injury compared to that of Abdallah Sima and Danilo.

Kemar Roofe’s comeback is also a significant help. Hopefully, the Jamaican international will be able to relieve some of Cyriel Dessers’ strain at the top of the pitch and contribute a few goals before the season ends.
