Rangers: Stephen McGinn gushes over Jack Butland after Joe Hart news emerges at Celtic

Too excellent,’ says McGinn, amazed at what Rangers have accomplished in the past 24 hours following the Celtics’ news.

With the news that Celtic keeper Joe Hart is retiring, Stephen McGinn has gone crazy over Jack Butland and wonders how the Rangers were able to sign him for nothing.

During his appearance on the Go Radio Football Show, the captain of Falkirk at the moment stated that Celtic will need to be as resourceful in their search for a new goalkeeper as Rangers were with Butland’s acquisition.

McGinn persisted in saying that Butland’s signing at Ibrox was almost too good to be true, and his season-long performances have validated his claims.

On February 22, McGinn said during an interview with the Go Radio Football Show, “The Jack Butland deal seemed too good to be true.”

(Regarding Rangers). How are they getting him on a free transfer, I thought to myself at the time.

“You think that’s too good to be true when you consider the standards in England for having homegrown players, his experience, and his age.

“He turned out to be a really good business partner. In order to replace Joe Hart, Celtic will need to put their thinking caps on.

Jack Butland has performed admirably for the Rangers.
During the summer transfer window, Butland has excelled at Ibrox, outperforming all other new arrivals who couldn’t live up to expectations.
Butland acknowledged that he had just met with Gareth Southgate, indicating that his performances have been so good that a return to the England squad—for the first time since 2018—is very much on the cards.
Because of Butland’s remarkable play, the club had to struggle in January to keep him at Ibrox when Nottingham Forest and another English team made a last-ditch effort to entice him to leave Glasgow after just six months.

The other side of Glasgow will be searching desperately for a new starting goalkeeper because Hart is now expected to depart Celtic; nevertheless, it appears unlikely that they will be able to locate one of Butland’s caliber, which emphasizes one more how brilliantly the Rangers brought him in.
