Newcastle United Are Eyeing A Move For This Everton Midfielder: What Will He Bring To Tyneside?

Journalist Pete O’Rourke said recently that Newcastle United is considering a transfer for James Garner, an Everton midfielder. According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur may present a challenge to the Magpies in their summer transfer window for the English talent.

Garner’s Remarkable Goodison Park Campaign

Garner deserves recognition for putting in a string of strong performances at the center of the Everton midfield. The Merseyside native is enjoying a good season with the team. The English superstar has played in 31 games for Everton this season across a variety of leagues, recording two goals and one assist.
The 22-year-old, who averages 2.8 tackles, 1.5 interceptions, and 1.5 clearances, has contributed positively in both halves.

In the Premier League, there are 1.2 shots, 1.3 crucial passes, and 0.6 dribbles every 90 minutes. After making 82% of his passes in the English first division, he has even been cautious while passing the ball from inside his half.
Since Garner’s contract with Everton runs through the summer of 2026, it will be difficult for the Magpies to acquire him later in the season for a low price.

What Can Newcastle United Expect From Garner?

Garner can timing his challenges well to win the ball back for his team inside his half. He is also a strong ball-tackler. When he runs the risk of being caught off guard, he doesn’t mind removing the threat.

The midfield ace can open up some good opportunities for his teammates up top and is a clean passer of the ball. If Eddie Howe can figure out a way to bring him on board as quickly as possible, this energetic player who can be found jogging in the middle of the park may be a great asset to Newcastle’s team.

Garner would give Howe’s midfield unit at the Tyneside club additional vitality and dynamism. Plus, he has enough Premier League experience under his belt to settle into life at St. James’ Park quickly.

At 22, Garner has a bright future ahead of him, and if Newcastle can pull off a successful transfer at the end of this season, he would be a fantastic addition.
