The manager of Everton is happy with his team’s season-long peak performance.

Even if Everton has struggled on the other end of the field, Sean Dyche expressed his satisfaction with the team’s defensive play this season.
Their main problem has been scoring goals, although they have one of the greatest defenses in the league. Everton’s story right now is one of doom and gloom, both on and off the field, but they can take pride in having the fourth-best defense in the Premier League with only 33 goals allowed. Furthermore, they are fourth in terms of predicted goals against, trailing just Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool. This is definitely something to be proud of.

Given how much more each of the three teams below them—Sheffield United (65), Burnley (55), and Luton (51)—have surrendered, it might be the difference between them staying in the league and going down. On the other hand, Everton has the third-worst attacking record in the league with 27 goals, which may prove to be their undoing, but fundamentally they have a strong defense.

Prior to their match against Brighton, Dyche expressed his satisfaction with his team’s defense resistance but also acknowledged their dissatisfaction with their inability to execute well on the other end of the field. The players are becoming more adept at the front-line defense that we want of them. The most difficult aspect of the task thus far has been making the shift to real goals. I do enjoy the team’s overall defensive structure.”

A solid defensive line supported by a solid keeper in Jordan Pickford, who has a league-high eight clean sheets, and a defensive center-back combination of James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite that combines speed, power, heart, and drive. They’ve made a significant contribution on the opposing side of the pitch as well.

Additionally, Vitalyi Mykolenko has proven to be a stable and trustworthy player, exhibiting advancements in his one-on-one defense this season. Right-back is the lone position where there is space for improvement. Even at 35, Seamus Coleman still defies the odds, but Nathan Patterson has had trouble staying consistent, and Dyche hasn’t started him in a row very often. Additionally, Ashley Young and Ben Godfrey have filled in, with varying degrees of success.
