“Really surprised”..Paul Merson picks the winner of Everton vs. Brighton on Saturday.

On Saturday, Everton will travel to Sussex to play Brighton and Hove Albion. Sean Dyche’s team is hoping to win for the first time since 2024.

On Monday night, the Toffees were able to salvage a draw against Crystal Palace thanks to a header from Amadou Onana in the second half.
Dyche will be looking for a rematch of the match from the previous season, in which Everton defeated 5-1, in their finest 2022–2023 effort.
Paul Merson, a pundit for Sky Sports, discussed his predictions for the match in an interview conducted prior to it at the Amex.

Paul Merson anticipates the outcome of Brighton vs. Everton.
Everton is coming into the Amex in bad form, so if Roberto De Zerbi’s team is playing at its best, things may get tough for them.

That’s Merson’s opinion, having been startled by Everton’s clumsy display against Palace.

He told Sportkeeda, “I watched Everton last week and I was quite shocked – they were very poor against Crystal Palace.”Paul Merson anticipates the outcome of Brighton vs. Everton.

The problem with this game is that Everton won this exact matchup 5-1 despite their dismal performance the previous year. But they have a difficult game ahead of them, and I don’t see a replay of last season.”

He said, “Brighton need to win this weekend as much as Everton do.” in reference to the match on Saturday.

“Their manager must improve his teams’ consistency if he hopes to get hired by a larger squad. Brighton is now too inconsistent.

“Everton were very fortunate against Palace at the end, and I thought that was a very disappointing performance.

“Brighton are the superior force when it comes to passing and movement, and I’m going to back them to win this game. 3-0.”

Everton just needs to get better.
Since the beginning of the year, performances haven’t been good enough, especially in offensive areas.

Despite having one of the finest defensive records in the division, the Toffees’ performance in the last third is severely lacking.

All Dyche needs to do is figure out how to make his team better moving ahead. If this isn’t done, the season may finish nervously.

Evertonians will be hoping that the Amex continues to be a fun place to hunt. Although Everton had a dismal season before to heading south, they were able to turn in a performance that had been lacking for much of the league season.

A repeat performance on Saturday will send the out-of-town supporters home in a triumphant spirit.
