‘Quite incredible’ Philippe Clement makes a “wondaful” decision at Rangers after what he has seen

Philippe Clement makes ‘Quite incredible’ Rangers decisions at Ibrox.

According to Derek Ferguson, Philippe Clement’s ability to get a tune out of Rangers despite altering with his line-up has been “quite incredible”.

Last Sunday (February 18), the Gers topped the Scottish Premiership after defeating St Johnstone 3-0, while Celtic were held by Kilmarnock.

If the Light Blues overcome Hearts on Saturday (24 February), the deficit might increase to five points, with Celtic hosting Motherwell the following day.

Ferguson, speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, stated that it’s tough to predict the Rangers manager’s team selection.

“It’s very difficult to describe what his ideas are and what he’s thinking. “Ross McCausland has had a great run,” he remarked.

“There was one game when he wasn’t at his best, but the manager stuck with him for the full 90 minutes. He was rested the next game, and Scott Wright came in; he didn’t perform very well against St Johnstone.

“Cyriel Dessers, again, the chances he’s missed have left you scratching your head, but the thing about Dessers is that he gives it his all; he’s a trier.

“I couldn’t tell you the team; look at left-back Ridvan Yilmaz and Borna Barisic; they appear to be chopping and shifting. Then there’s the middle of the park, where Tom Lawrence is back to his full fitness and Todd Cantwell is playing like a pro.

“He appears to play them and get a few minutes out of them before bringing in different performers for a while, but he always gets a song out of them, which is fantastic.

“Having a starting XI and going three, four, five games, I think that’s gone because clearly he looks at this game and it’s a massive game, but I also think he’s got an eye on the other games coming up because we’ve got Kilmarnock and the Europa League coming up, so he always speaks about the squad.

“He has the majority of them fit, with a couple more to come back, but what will that side be? I’m not sure, but it will be a motivated team; they now hold a two-point lead.

“I’m not sure about Dessers; I believe Fabio Silva and possibly McCausland will return. I’m not sure, but you’ll have guys who will go all out and not only win, but also put on a great show.

Who will start for Rangers against Hearts?

Almost everything Clement has touched this season has turned to gold at Ibrox, with their only setback under the Belgian coming against Celtic at the conclusion of last year.

Clement has dealt with numerous injuries since taking over at Ibrox, but even when players are well, he is not hesitant to rotate his starting lineup.

So it’s impossible to anticipate who will start against Hearts this Saturday, as the manager has a few possibilities.

What is certain is that whoever receives the shirt will be fully prepared for the game as the Rangers attempt to apply further pressure in a gripping championship race.
