Once again, 777 Partners will be left hanging as the verdict on the Everton takeover could be postponed.

Everton might be headed for a stressful couple of weeks as off-the-field matters take centre stage at Goodison Park.

The Premier League are still to issue their ruling regarding the Toffees’ appeal against their 10-point deduction.

Many would argue the current scenario is beyond ludicrous.

For such a high-profile and critical decision to be made halfway through the season is unfair to Everton and those competing for Premier League survival.

“It should never have been allowed to be in a position that we are now,” former defender Alan Stubbs told the More Than A Game podcast.

“It’s sad, but I’m just hoping that once we get this points fiasco drama resolved, whichever way it is, I just want to move on from it. The ambiguity is the bit that kills you.”

Everton are also waiting on the Premier League to ratify 777 Partners’ ownership of the club, nearly five months after confirmation of their agreement with Farhad Moshiri was made public.

Everton takeover date could have changed again

Regarding Premier League approval, there had been anticipation that a settlement could have been achieved by the end of February.

However, per a fresh report by the Liverpool Echo, the saga drifting in March is now a serious possibility.

“Prospective Everton owners 777 Partners remain unsure when they will be informed of the result of the Premier League’s owners and directors test, with hopes of a decision before the end of February fading,” they wrote.

“There was hope that the Premier League would reach a decision by the end of February, but that now looks likely to move over into March, with sources stating that further questions were asked by the Premier League of 777 last week.”

Premier League not fit for purpose

No matter what happens, important people should leave the Premier League because of how they have handled both scandals, which have been ludicrous.

Stubbs thinks that way; he has demanded Richard Masters’ resignation before.

There is a pressing need for a decision, and we are still riding on your coattails. Wednesday or Friday might be the day. They are tinkering with people’s lives here.

“Richard Maters should walk, in my opinion, regardless of the result.”

777’s commitment to the club’s financial support has not wavered, and the two organizations will likely keep close connections regardless of the Premier League’s decision.

These extraordinary conditions can be held largely responsible for Everton’s demise.
