Everton set ‘big’ James Garner price tag as Tottenham and Newcastle United swoop – Sources..

Everton are keen to generate a profit on midfielder James Garner as they anticipate bids in the summer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (19 February) that Tottenham and Newcastle United are keeping tabs on Garner, 22, ahead of a prospective transfer.

A well-placed source has already told Football Insider that Garner “ticks a lot of boxes” for both clubs with the off-season swiftly coming.

Spurs and Newcastle will be in the lookout for midfield reinforcements this summer.

Garner signed Everton from Man United in 2022 for £15million.

Everton want ‘big’ Garner profit as Tottenham and Newcastle ready to face head-to-head

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Toffees will be ready to bank a “big” profit on the midfield star and will hold out for about £20-25million.

The former Nottingham Forest loanee will have two years remaining on his contract in June.

Young English players are at a premium, meaning Everton can hang out for a big-money fee for Garner despite their severe financial circumstances.

It is believed Sean Dyche’s side will have a serious battle to keep the versatile midfielder in the summer window – especially if they suffer relegation to the Championship.

He has made 22 Premier League starts in 30 appearances across all competitions in the 2023-24 campaign, notching two goals and one assist.

Everton’s ability to demand a high sum for Garner could rely on their top-flight status.

The Toffees, who were penalized 10 points earlier this season, moved out of the relegation zone on goal difference on Monday (19 February) after drawing 1-1 against Crystal Palace.
