Done Deal: Rangers finalise terms to sign  an “Exceptional Player” as Arian Allen heads to Ibrox

Done Deal: Rangers finalise terms to sign new Ross McCausland as Arian Allen heads to Ibrox.

Rangers were quite busy in the January transfer window, with Philippe Clement adding to his team ahead of a crucial second half of the season.

Oscar Cortes, Fabio Silva, and Mohamed Diomande all joined Ibrox on loan.

And it appears that the club’s academy is aligned with the first team, as forward Arian Allen recently signed from Everton [official Rangers website, 19 February].

The club said that the 16-year-old, who can play across the frontline, has joined Steven Smith’s Under-18s.

According to the Glasgow World, Allen has signed a four-year contract at Ibrox after joining from Merseyside.

And, if recent history is any indication, the youngster, like his fellow forward Ross McCausland, should have a promising future straight away.

In a short period of time, the latter has established himself as a regular under Clement, while the academy graduate has also impressed on the international scene for Northern Ireland.

In November, the attacker signed a new contract with Glasgow until the summer of 2027, indicating his long-term commitment.

The 20-year-old has excelled during his brief spell in professional football, and Rangers are hopeful that Allen will follow the same path from academy to first team as fast as possible.

But there will be no rush for the 16-year-old, as his minutes must be properly handled at this critical period of his career.
