“We Can’t accept that” Gordon Parks blasts ‘Phenomenal’ Rangers star after what he saw recently in Glasgow February 21, 2024 Admin Rangers 0 Gordon Parks blasts Rangers star James Tavernier, lacks ‘Aura’ to be captain. Journalist Gordon Parks has attacked Rangers striker James Tavernier and claims he doesn’t have the “aura” or “personality” to be captain of the Ibrox club. Speaking while appearing on PLZ Soccer (21 February), the Daily Record journalist remembered an occasion where he witnessed the defender head into Five Guys restaurant for a burger in Glasgow. And Parks believes that his lack of aura was on plain for all to see on that occasion, and says that it demonstrates he isn’t the appropriate man to be captain of the Bears. “I was in Glasgow city centre a couple of days ago, literally an hour after full-time whistle,” he remarked. “A big Jeep pulls up outside Five Guys. “Tavernier gets out with his Rangers tracksuit on and his Rangers jacket and went into Five Guys for a burger. “I take on board everything you’ve said, he’s technically a very good player. But he lacks the vibe and personality. He’s nondescriptly strolling into Five Guys. “If that’s Richard Gough, Barry Ferguson, or a Greig at that time, you kind of exude not going into Five Guys for a burger. Scoring phenomenal, but the gravitas you carry at the club as the captain, I think he lacks that personally.” Gordon Parks can’t be serious about the Rangers captaincy? There are lots of things to blame Tavernier about, and whether he is the appropriate guy for the captaincy is something that has been questioned in recent months. But if you feel that there is a justification for that to be proven accurate then you’re as crazy as Parks is, since it has absolutely no truth behind it all. The main difference between Tavernier and the athletes who were named is the fact that social media exists now, and players are lot closer to fans nowadays and far more accessible. But aside from that he’s not Scottish or a lifetime Rangers supporter either, so he immediately wouldn’t have the connection with the locals that they had. Ultimately it means absolutely nothing that he wasn’t swarmed after a game while in public. He is the right man in the current group to lead them and if he lifts number 56 this season everyone will stop doubting him. Read more news on https://sportupdates.co.uk/
