The signing of promising Everton player Arian Allen by the Rangers on a four-year contract has been revealed.
After six years in the Toffees academy, the 16-year-old Englishman is leaving the team and will play with Steven Smith’s U18 team in the last few weeks of the season.
The young player, who can play a variety of forward positions, has received acclaim for his enthusiasm and energy and has been dubbed “dynamic” by Football Scotland. He has appeared in four U18 games this season, all from the substitute bench. Over the course of those sixty minutes, he has tallied one assist.
The move is a declaration of purpose for the German team, and academy director Zeb Jacobs said he was happy to close the transaction. “Having Arian on board is great for us,” he said on the club website.
Yuki Kobayashi, a defender for Celtic, was supposed to go on loan to HJK Helsinki, but the deal fell through, according to Football Insider reports.
With a transfer window open from now until April, the reigning Finnish champions were eager to add Kobayashi, and talks were moving along. But according to transfer guru Peter O’Rourke, the player has since canceled the deal and is back in the gym with his teammates from the Hornets.
This season, the 23-year-old has only made one matchday squad for Celtic and has dropped considerably in the hierarchy. Only five or seven team appearances have he made overall since his January 2023 arrival.
Since Brendan Rodgers’ arrival in the summer, Kobayashi has been considered surplus to needs; hence, the player’s planned move to HJK was seen as a chance to show off his skills and possibly reclaim his spot in the Celtic lineup.
The center defender, whose contract with Celtic expires in May 2028, left Vissel Kobe in January 2023.
