Malik Tillman set for PSV stay as Rangers line-up tasty £1.2m windfal.
Malik Tillman, a former Rangers loan player, is expected to join PSV Eindhoven for £12 million in the summer and has expressed interest in staying with the club for the following season.
This might result in a £1.2 million windfall for the Ibrox side.
On loan The Bayern Munich ace was a key player for the Ibrox club last season, but the arrangement to make his loan to Scottish
football permanent fell through this summer as the German giants reconsidered his future and transferred him to the Eredivisie
with Rangers’ Champions League opponents PSV instead.
Rangers reportedly received approximately £1 million in compensation after Bayern withdrew out of the deal, and they are
entitled to an additional 10% sell-on of the American international’s future fee.
He helped PSV draw with Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League’s Round of 16 opening leg this week.
And he appears to be planning to convert the loan into a permanent one next term.
Tillman stated, “For me, it always boils down to playing time or prospects.
” Hopefully, next summer, I’ll look back on the second season in which I consistently played at a good level since joining
Rangers last year. That is how I want to see it continue.
“‘The environment is pretty nice. We’ve gotten incredibly close as a team.
Everyone enjoys themselves, even the manager and the workers. We just enjoy playing football, and you can see it in us.
“I also believe we play really attractively. Peter Bosz has a certain plan, which we try to follow. It’s all about intensity, both with and without the ball.
Tillman has prospered after returning from injury, scoring five goals and providing four assists in 16 league appearances.
He appeared 43 times for Rangers in all competitions, scoring 12 goals.
