This past NFL season, the Green Bay Packers had the underdog run of the year, and their quarterback understands what it will take for his young squad to advance. Jordan Love told Sports Illustrated’s Brice Butler before of Super Bowl LVIII what he believes his team has to work on in 2024. “I think early on in the season we had to find ways to win,” Love told reporters. “Many of our losses were close games in which we had a chance to win but were unable to do so.
“Going forward, that’s going to be the thing in those close games-we gotta find a way to execute, capitalize-make as few mistakes as possible and win those close ones,” he said. “It will catapult us back to the postseason. And once we arrive, dude, we’ve been there. We’ve experienced what it’s like to lose and come so close, so we’re pumped for the upcoming season. In his first season as the Packers’ starting quarterback, the 25-year-old guided the team to a 9-8 record and a playoff appearance, defeating the Dallas Cowboys on the road in the wild-card round. His team’s Cinderella run was cut short by the San Francisco 49ers in a close 24-21 game.
