Rangers captain James Tavernier has joined another exclusive list of Europe’s finest.

James Tavernier has occasionally elicited mixed feelings from Rangers supporters.

Given his goal-scoring prowess and his name being discussed alongside superstars like as Sergio Ramos, Laurent Blanc, and Ronaldo Koeman, even his harshest critics must be backing down.

Another statistic from Italian football website Amici Sportivi illustrates how much James Tavernier means to Rangers boss Philippe Clement.

James Tavernier is the chance creation king for the Rangers.

The Gers boss is fully aware of the skipper’s role in his squad but after equalising John Greig’s club record for a defender and just two short of Graeme Alexander’s British scoring feats, Tavernier’s incredible numbers continue to impress.

On this list, James Tavernier is in third place on the same number as a familiar name to Rangers fans, Joey Veerman, with chances being created the statistic being looked at.

Top, is Cameron Puertas from Union Saint Gilloise who is an attacking midfield just two in front of Tavernier.

TThe comparison is made throughout the top 10 European leagues, with Tavernier being the only one of the five players mentioned who isn’t a higher level player.

Nonetheless, the way Clement employs the captain of the Gers, he is playing an almost auxiliary role as a midfielder and spending more time than ever in the final third.

Tavernier was enormous at Ibrox against Ross County.

He does score a lot of penalties, but even without them, his stats would be amazing.

127 assists in 443 Rangers appearances would be impressive in and of themselves.

His three goals against Ross County weren’t coincidental.

He has an excellent effort rate when it comes to positioning himself to make the proper passes.

He perseveres even when things aren’t going well for him.

How many times have we witnessed him play poorly but then produce the magical moment required to either create the winner or score it himself?

Rangers right-back James Tavernier is producing about four opportunities every game.

If you are unable to recognize that right now, you will when he leaves the team.
