Dan Plumley has insisted that yet another negative story on 777 Partners will not be great as they push for approval to complete their Everton takeover.

It was reported by Matt Hughes this week that the proposed takeover continues to stall while 777 has made numerous redundancies in London and Miami. The football finance expert admitted that until a decision is made on the takeover by the Premier League, more negative stories are likely to emerge. “No, again, it’s just another negative story in the mix with Everton,” he exclusively told Goodison News. “We keep saying that we’re almost running out of words to describe this situation now, we keep saying that this takeover needs to get over the line and whether that is 777 or someone else, there is still the need for a takeover in the background.

“This constant stalling and constant stories about 777 and the lack of information we can see as well is still quite worrying and until that deal is over the line, these bad stories will continue to circulate and people will look into them and rightly so. “It will have a negative impact on the takeover as well, whether or not behind-the-scenes that is playing out, we don’t know but certainly, from a PR perspective, it doesn’t look great and that is not great for the club moving forward in what is an already fairly precarious situation given everything else that is going on.”
