Alan Stubbs embarrasses himself after what he said about Rangers and Philippe Clement

After saying anything hurtful about Philippe Clement and the Rangers, Alan Stubbs looks foolish.

Even though Rangers won the Viaplay Cup in December, Alan Stubbs tried to undermine Philippe Clement’s accomplishments at the club by saying he hasn’t won anything.

In a humiliating interview with PLZ Soccer on February 20, Stubbs said that, despite his impressive season, supporters should think the manager hasn’t won anything.

The former Celtic player is now furious with his desperate attempts to minimize and undermine what Clement and Rangers have accomplished thus far this season.

“I think the response that Philippe Clement has got from his players in terms of not just results, but how they’ve bought into his style of management has been impressive,” Stubbs said in an interview with PLZ Soccer.

“We need to be clear that he hasn’t won anything, despite his excellent work thus far.

Philippe Clement at Rangers is still defying the odds.

Stubbs’s acknowledgement that Clement has performed admirably seemed to be said through clenched teeth and required a dismissal of some kind. All that demonstrates is the extent to which Rangers’ success is influencing Celtic fans.

With a triumph in the Viaplay Cup final, Ibrox is poised for a spectacular season. They have already surpassed their Old Firm opponents in the SPFL and plan to continue their upward trajectory.

Rangers manager Paul Clement has positioned his team to take advantage of Celtic’s apparent self-destruction during games. The majority of Celtic’s problems are their own fault.

Of course, prudence is still required. Until it ends, it isn’t over. All that is evident, though, is that Clement’s administration at Ibrox is turning out to be a significant improvement.

If the squad can handle the strain of withdrawing from the championship chase, something Graeme Souness has questioned, they have a good chance of winning.

Updates on Ben Davies’ and Leon Balogun’s injuries have surfaced in other Rangers news.
