An Everton academy talent has joined Rangers.
Arian Allen left the Premier League team to join the Ibrox club.
The 16-year-old striker made the decision to quit the Toffees in order to follow a new path north of the border. He had been with the team since he was 10 years old.
One description of him is dynamic player. Allen will re-join Stevie Smith’s under-18 team in an attempt to finish the season strong.
The academy director of Rangers, Zeb Jacobs, offered his thoughts on the transfer and expressed his happiness at landing such a gifted young player.
“Having Arian on board is fantastic for us,” he remarked.”We can’t wait to collaborate with him and help him reach his full potential in the upcoming seasons.”
Sam Lammers, meanwhile, may be on his way to Twente Enschede for a summer transfer worth £2.5 million after they were unable to sign him when he moved to Rangers last year.
The Dutch flop, who is on loan at Utrecht, has led them to a record-breaking 14 games without a loss, including a victory over third-place Twente over the weekend.
Twente seemed certain to qualify for the Champions League the next season, sitting five points clear in third place and comfortably ahead of Utrecht in ninth.
Furthermore, there have been rumors in the Netherlands that they want to attempt landing Lammers again in the summer.
When he was at Atalanta, Twente was interested in him, but he decided to move to Rangers instead, a £3.5 million decision that ultimately backfired.
There is no buyout option in the loan transfer to Utrecht, and Twente has far stronger financial standing than Utrecht to sign the 26-year-old.
For his play against Twente over the weekend, Lammers received high marks.
