Rangers: Barry Ferguson blown away by James Tavernier in new Ibrox ‘scapegoat’ admission

‘Unbelievable’ – Barry Ferguson blown away by Rangers star in fresh Ibrox ‘Scapegoat’ admission

Barry Ferguson claims that James Tavernier, the captain of Rangers, has been unfairly used as a “scapegoat” after he added to his already “unbelievable” goal total against St Johnstone.

In the Light Blues’ victory on Sunday, February 18, the 32-year-old scored twice from the spot to assist Philippe Clement’s team surpass Celtic and take the top spot in the Scottish Premiership table for the first time this year.
With 12 Premiership goals this season and 120 goals overall for the Gers, Tavernier has amassed an impressive record that Paul Cooney of Go Radio called “unbelievable,” particularly in light of his right-back position.

On Monday, February 19, at 9:20 a.m., he made the following statement on The Go Radio Football Show: “The captain stepped up again.” That excellent striker, defender, 120 goals

It’s astounding!

“I know a lot of them are penalties, but they are pressurised situations penalties,” Ferguson declared promptly after receiving some backlash. “What a signing he has been for Rangers over the piece,” he added.

£300,000: James Tavernier feels a little pressure to win trophies since he is the captain, and he feels he hasn’t done so enough, despite some really good performances.

“I’ve admitted that I occasionally felt like he was being used as a scapegoat, but he has 120 goals, so I think he can play for a while longer.”
At Ibrox, can James Tavernier help the Rangers win three straight?
Not too long ago, Ibrox fans and commentators were criticizing Tavernier for his work under Michael Beale. Some even said that the fullback should be benched due to his dismal play.

But since Clement moved to Glasgow, those calls have been conspicuously lacking. Under the Belgian’s direction, the 32-year-old has led the Light Blues’ comeback and gone from strength to strength.

When discussing his goal total, people will always bring up how many penalties he has scored, but Tavernier has always stood up and been counted for his team, and his consistency from the penalty spot ought to be recognized.

As Ferguson indicated, the captain of the Rangers has not appeared to be slowing down at Ibrox. Although he may still make history this season, it appears like he will be a member of this Rangers team for a few more seasons.
