Wasn’t because of Rangers’ – Chris Sutton fires fresh Ibrox jibe after win v St Johnstone

Chris Sutton, a former Celtic player, is not happy with Rangers’ return to the top of the Scottish Premiership after his team “unfortunately” defeated St Johnstone.

Mohamed Diomande’s first goal for the Gers and James Tavernier’s brace helped Clement’s team defeat the Bhoys 3-0 on Sunday, February 18, to move ahead of them for the first time this season.
Despite the fact that Sutton was grinning again after the match, the Sky Sports analyst quickly reassured reporter Dominic King that it had nothing to do with the Light Blues’ recent success under the Belgian’s leadership.

He stated, “Busy weekend, busy few days,” during an interview on the It’s All Kicking Off! podcast on February 19 at 1:45. Unfortunately, the Rangers won yesterday’s game that I attended. at the top of the league.

“It’s nice to see a smile on your face anyway, the fact that Ian [Ladyman] is up a mountain,” King shot back.

“That [the smile] wasn’t because Rangers went top of the league,” Sutton retaliated.
Can Rangers win the Premiership by defeating Celtic?

Since Clement moved to Ibrox, Glasgow’s fortunes have drastically changed, and the Belgian has turned Rangers from the struggling team under Michael Beale into the clear favorites to win the championship this year.

Rangers made smart recruitment choices in January to increase their chances of winning additional hardware before the season ends, and their most recent performance has demonstrated that they are more than capable of stringing together a successful run of play.

Sutton and other Celtic fans and commentators won’t like what they see happening at Ibrox right now, but it’s evident that people in Glasgow’s green neighborhood now consider the Light Blues to be a real threat.

It is unclear if the Gers will have enough to continue their run until the end of the season, and the race for the championship will most likely come down to the wire, but right now Clement’s team is in the lead.
