”He advises against being comfortable.” As Rangers set title challenge

James Tavernier sets Rangers title challenge as he warns against complacency

As the Rangers aim for championship glory, James Tavernier has pushed his teammates to maintain their league-leading position.

Following the elimination of Celtic’s seven-point lead, Philippe Clement’s team made history by climbing to the top of the Premiership for the first time since August 2022. With 12 games remaining, the Hoops are presently two points behind their Old Firm opponents. However, captain Tavernier has stated that there will be no room for complacency as he pursues just his second league championship at Ibrox.

“We always had faith in our team and the players we have,” he stated. It required a shift, and the manager entered the room to raise the standards with our performance and his expectations of each of us.

No matter where you are in the season—even if you’re just halfway through—there’s always pressure to do well. I stated there were plenty of games remaining and we simply needed to concentrate on ourselves after we drew away from Aberdeen back in November.
Right now, the squad is playing really well, and we’re gaining a lot of momentum. Congratulations to Mohamed Diomande, who scored a fantastic goal on his debut and has been a big addition for us. Both Oscar Cortes and Fabio Silva have also done so.

I’m thrilled for the team and the direction we’re going because Dujon Sterling also entered the game and had a significant influence down the right side.

However, there is always room for improvement, and we will keep pushing ourselves to do so. We must keep our attention on the upcoming game and proceed accordingly. We’ve always focused on taking each game as it comes up and winning it. There are still plenty of games to play, so we need to be completely focused on that.”
