Breaking: Green Bay Packers Lose New Personnel To Los Angeles Rams Amid Jeff Hafley Hire.
The Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams have met five times in the last decade or so. This past season, the two clubs competed for (and won) the final two playoff slots. Over the past decade, the Packers have gone 4-1 versus the Rams.
Today, however, it was revealed that one Packers coach will continue his career with the Rams.
According to Tom Silverstein:
The Rams have hired Greg Williams, a former Packers defensive pass game coordinator who was among the assistants ordered to look elsewhere after Joe Barry was sacked.
Williams is expected to leave Green Bay Packers due to coaching changes and a potential shift to a 4-3 defense. Williams formerly coached cornerbacks for the Cardinals from 2019 to 2022, as well as Broncos and Colts defensive backs.
In 2023, the Packers allowed 335 passing yards per game, which ranked 17th in the NFL. They also let up 37 passing touchdowns (including two playoff games).
According to ESPN.com’s Rob Demovsky, the Packers have hired Derrick Ansley, the former Chargers defensive coordinator, as their defensive pass game coordinator. In addition to naming Anthony Campanile as linebackers coach/run game coordinator, the Packers are expanding their defensive staff under new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley.
