During his time with the team, Roofe has also sustained repeated ailments; at the moment, he is out due
to a condition he sustained in December.
It’s thought that one of the main reasons he left was because of his repeated failures.
The former Leeds and West Brom ace arrived at Rangers for a fee of around £4.5million from Belgian
side Anderlecht in 2020 and has bagged 38 goals across 93 appearances in all competitions.
He helped the club to the title in his debut season in 2020-21 under Steven Gerrard having scored 10
league goals.
Following their 3-1 victory over Ross County on Wednesday, the Rangers tied rivals Celtic on both the
goal differential and points scored (14 February).
Their next game is on Sunday afternoon, away to St Johnstone (18 February).
Other Rangers news: As negotiations begin, a deal for the team’s star player is now “number one
priority.”
