REPORT – Rangers now also ready to accept bids for “excellent” ace following shock Dessers claim

In 2025, his contract with Ibrox expires.

REPORT: In response to Dessers’ shocking allegation, Rangers are now open to offers for a “excellent” ace. The player in question is out of contract in the summer of 2025, and the team is apparently eager to sell at the end of the current campaign.

News about Rangers transfers
Regardless of whether they win the Scottish Premiership this season, the Gers will be searching for new players, and it’s safe to say that a number of viable targets have surfaced recently. Oscar Cortes is one player who has been tipped to sign a permanent deal with Rangers, provided he performs well while on loan from Lens between now and the conclusion of the season.

The summer will see Sheffield United striker Oli McBurnie’s contract expire at Bramall Lane. He will be free to sign elsewhere and is a potential option for Philippe Clement’s team.

A shocking report this week indicated the Gers may look to part ways with a player who has flourished under Clement in an effort to make the squad younger. Cyriel Dessers is one player who has been linked with a switch away. There is also a chance that current players may leave at the end of the season.

In light of a recent report on the Gers’ summer clearout, it now appears as though another Ibrox star may be leaving with him.

Rangers to list their second major player for sale
Rangers “plan to accept offers” for Tom Lawrence to leave the team during the summer transfer window, per a Football Insider report, since they view him as a disposable player.
Football Insider has been informed by sources that Tom Lawrence’s departure from Rangers may be approved next summer. The 30-year-old may be sold, according to transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke, who discussed the possibility with Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast. Philippe Clement is eager to mold the team in his likeness.

“Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that the manager is eager to lower the age of his squad and recruit young high-potential assets in future windows.”
Given that Lawrence hasn’t exactly been a regular under Clement this season, it makes some sense to give him a new challenge during this window of time. He has made just seven starts in the Scottish Premiership, making six more appearances off the bench, and has not contributed a single goal to the score.

This summer may be the last opportunity to sign the 30-year-old for a decent price, as his contract expires in 2025, rather than losing him on a free agent.

It wouldn’t be a bad thing if Lawrence stayed on, though, as David McCallum noted in August of his impact on the Rangers’ B team: “We talked before the game about Tom’s excellent sharing of his experience with the group.” When a player or two slips from the starting lineup to gain crucial minutes, that’s what some of these games will be about on rare occasions.”
