Rangers now also ready to accept bids for “excellent” ace following shock Dessers claim – report

Rangers are now prepared to sell Dessers’ shocking claim along with their “excellent” ace.

Rangers are reportedly willing to sell an “excellent” player at the end of the season, with the individual in question out of contract in the summer of 2025.

Rangers transfer news

Regardless of whether they win the Scottish Premiership this season, the Gers will be searching for new players, and it’s safe to say that a number of viable targets have surfaced recently.

Oscar Cortes is one player who has been tipped to sign a permanent deal with Rangers, provided he performs well while on loan from Lens between now and the conclusion of the season.

The summer will see Sheffield United striker Oli McBurnie’s contract expire at Bramall Lane. He will then be free to sign

elsewhere and is a potential option for Philippe Clement’s team.

A shocking report this week indicated the Gers may look to part ways with a player who has thrived under Clement in order to

make the squad younger. Cyriel Dessers is one player who has been linked with a switch away. There is also a chance that current players may leave at the end of the season.

In light of a recent report on the Gers’ summer clearout, it now appears as though another Ibrox star may be leaving with him.

Rangers to put second big name up for sale

Tom Lawrence is considered an expendable player, and Rangers “plan to accept offers” for him to leave the team during the summer transfer window, according to a Football Insider update.

“Sources have told Football Insider that Tom Lawrence’s departure from the Rangers could be approved next summer. The 30-year-old may be sold, according to transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke, who discussed the possibility with Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast. Philippe Clement is eager to mold the team in his likeness.

“Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that the manager is eager to lower the age of his squad and recruit young high-potential assets in future windows.”

Given that Lawrence hasn’t exactly been a regular under Clement this season, it makes some sense to give him a new challenge during this window of time. In the Scottish Premiership, he has only made seven starts and six appearances off the bench. He has failed to contribute a goal to the game.

This summer may be your last chance to sign the 30-year-old for a respectable sum rather than losing him on a free agent in 2025, since his contract expires the following year.

It wouldn’t be a bad thing if Lawrence stayed on, though, as Rangers’ B team manager David McCallum had praised him in August for his impact on the group, stating, “Tom was excellent around the group, sharing his experience, and we spoke before the game about that.” When a player or two slips from the starting lineup to gain crucial minutes, that’s what some of these games will be about on rare occasions.”
