Rangers supporters will be relieved that Michael Beale is not managing the team after a video of him managing Sunderland surfaced.
Trai Hume of the Black Cats offered to shake Beale’s hand after being substituted during the 2-1 loss to Birmingham on February 17.
He then apologized to Hume in a statement, although it’s possible that this was more of an act of self-preservation.
The video from the EFL Championship game does not do his likeability or social skills any favors.
Beale’s efficacy as a manager is compromised by his inability to establish true relationships with the players at
Ibrox, which points to a lack of rapport and leadership.
Even though Beale was Steven Gerrard’s assistant at Rangers in the past, his incapacity to build rapport and improve the culture of the team raises questions about his talents.
This episode confirms opinions that Beale’s value may have been inflated more by his friendship with Gerrard than by his own managing abilities.

When the Belgian succeeded Beale, it appeared that the 55-time SPFL champions would have again another poor season.
On the other hand, one could argue that Celtic’s downfall has contributed to the fact that the Gers are now the favorites to win the championship.
