For the first time in four years, Ohio State’s offensive and defensive full-time assistant coaches will be the same in 2024.
Ohio State had just four full-time defensive assistant coaches for the final three years following Parker Fleming’s 2021 replacement of Greg Mattison, as Fleming concentrated on special teams coaching. But now that Ryan Day decided not to bring on a second special teams coach and instead promoted graduate assistant James Laurinaitis to linebackers coach, Ohio State has five full-time defensive coordinators.
