Former Rangers striker and five-time Celtic championship winner team together at shocking new club in transfer shock.
Several luminaries, including the former Rangers and Celtic players, have made the transition to the 11th division of English football.
The short-term transfers of former Rangers forward Ross McCormack and former Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew to the 11th division of English football have been finalized.
The former, who played for Dundee United, retired last year. While McCormack spent some time out of the game following his restricted minutes at Motherwell and Aldershot Town, he joined non-league team Liversedge in 2023 and hasn’t had a club since.
Doncaster City, a team in the Central Midlands League North Division, revealed on Friday night that McCormack, who began his career at Rangers before enjoying great success in the EFL, and Mulgrew, who won five Premiership titles at Celtic, had both signed short-term contracts.
Along among them is former Airdrie and Livingston player Scott McLaughlin, as well as Norwich City icon Wes Hoolahan. At English football’s seventh stage, all four got off to the start of Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Dearne and District in front of around 800 spectators.
The question of why seasoned players have descended all the way to the bottom of the pyramid to play has generated curiosity.
After making his Rangers debut in 2004, McCormack went on to play for clubs in the south, including Leeds United, Cardiff City, Fulham, and Aston Villa.
