Barry Ferguson thinks a great Rangers player has a few more games left in him and needs to leave a lasting impression.
For current Rangers striker Kemar Roofe, who is recovering from yet another knee injury, the former captain feels that his time is running out.
The £4 million player simply cannot stay healthy; his most recent injury was in a match against St Johnstone in December, and he hasn’t played for the Rangers first team since.
Transfermarkt reports that Roofe’s injuries have kept him out of 13 Scottish Premiership games so far this year. The Jamaican does, however, rank among Rangers’ best finishers and occasionally nets a crucial goal.
Roofe may still be “very important this season,” according to Philippe Clement, suggesting that the forward will soon make a comeback.
Ferguson agrees with the Belgian, as the club’s former captain feels ‘predator’ Roofe has the potential to be a major player.
But the 46-year-old, speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, issued a warning to Roofe, stating that with his contract expiring in the summer, the unfortunate striker has only three months to salvage his Rangers career.
