Celtic has reacted to Rangers‘ statement regarding the SWPL derby.

After Rangers canceled away fans’ tickets for their SWPL match, Celtic retaliated against the Ibrox club.

In advance of the match on Sunday, the Ibrox club issued a message on Saturday that may have some

bearing on the championship winner. The Rangers stated “groups of ‘risk’ supporters in a significant

number had purchased tickets from the Celtic allocation.”

They also said “Rangers’ security team decided it would be unsafe to allow these ‘risk’ supporters into the

stadium, and with Celtic unwilling to cancel just their tickets, the decision to cancel all tickets was

taken.”

However, Celtic responded with a forceful response. The game will now be broadcast into Parkhead’s

screens. “Celtic Football Club was informed this morning that all away tickets for tomorrow’s women’s

SWPL game at Ibrox Stadium will be canceled,” the statement read.

“It is extremely disheartening that so many fans cannot access the women’s game in Scotland at a time

when so many are working so hard to support and promote it.

“Especially more so considering the anticipated turnout and the variety of choices the home team had to

enable our supporters to attend in a stadium of this size securely.
