Simon Thomas reacts to Celtic draw in new Rangers verdict live on Sky Sports.

Simon Thomas, a presenter for Sky Sports, stated that Rangers now have the opportunity to seize the title from their

Old Firm rivals, Kilmarnock having already defeated them twice this season.

Philippe Clement and his team will now head to St Johnstone on February 18 knowing that a victory would put them two points

clear at the top of the SPFL and put them in the driver’s seat. This comes as Celtic stammered to a 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock at Parkhead.

“Kilmarnock beat Celtic in the League Cup and the Scottish Premiership, and they’ve taken two points off them at Celtic Park

today,” Thomas said in a live broadcast on Sky Sports News on February 17 at 16:57.

“Rangers will have the opportunity to lead from the front tomorrow as they go to St Johnstone.

“The only thing separating the two clubs was the number of goals scored; they were tied on points and goal differential.

That afternoon’s big, big blow to Celtic was that. It ends at Celtic Park 1-1.

Rangers needed to make sure they defeated St Johnstone away from home even before the Celtic outcome, but now that

their championship rivals are losing ground, it is imperative that Clement’s squad wins.

There can be no justification for losing this one, even though Clement will, as he has always insisted, take each game

as it comes and not waste the opportunity to go two points clear at the top.

The team’s ability to handle the pressure of leading the title race will then be the deciding factor. They have been the underdogs

in the match up to this point since they have been chasing Celtic, but winning the championship is a different story.

Midweek victory over Ross County was noteworthy, but some felt it was a lost chance because the Gers could have gone up to the

top with more goals scored. Now that the chance has resurfaced, they need to make sure the same story cannot be told.
