Houston Astros’ Former Closer Gives Interesting Statement About His New Role.
This season, the drama involving the Houston Astros bullpen’s backend will undoubtedly be followed.
The Houston Astros signed Josh Hader, the best reliever in baseball, in a massive deal this winter, sparking enthusiasm among fans.
With a $95 million contract, it was believed that the superstar would be assigned the closing job.
New Astros manager Joe Espada announced Hader as the team’s closer for the upcoming season, as expected.
Ryan Pressly, their former closer, will be reassigned to a setup job, and when asked about the adjustment, he made an odd response.
“I’m paid to go get three outs, whether it’s in the fourth or ninth innings. “Whenever the phone rings and they tell me to get in there, I get in there,” he said, according to Chron.com’s Leah Vann.
Once the shock of the transfer subsided, questions about how Hader’s presence may resound around the clubhouse arose.
Pressly has been a Houston staple since its acquisition in 2018.
However, it looks that the two are attempting to form a connection in order to prevent any potential issues.
