Everton injury update on five players as 20 y/o called up to training ahead of Crystal Palace

As Everton prepares to take on Crystal Palace, Abdoulaye Doucoure is back in squad training. Due to two hamstring injuries, the top scorer for the Toffees with six goals has missed ten of the team’s past eleven games. Sean Dyche’s team has only triumphed once in that span, and that victory came against Palace in an FA Cup third-round replay. Since then, they have lost 10 points for breaking profit and sustainability regulations, and they have fallen into the Premier League relegation zone while they wait for the results of their appeal hearing.

Doucoure, nevertheless, has been hanging out with the rest of his teammates at Finch Farm ahead of Palace’s most recent trip to Goodison on Monday (20:00 GMT), so it’s possible that he may be added to the starting lineup on matchday. However, it’s questionable if the midfield player will get a straight start. Doucoure played 90 minutes in a 0-0 tie against Aston Villa in January after missing nearly a month due to a hamstring problem on his opposite leg, however at first it was assumed that he was just tired.

If the Blues are going to be fighting at the bottom of the table once more, they won’t want their lucky charm to fail. And Ben Godfrey was training too. After spending the opening game of the season on the sidelines, the defender has played in the last three games. Due to cramps, Godfrey had to leave the game early in the 2-2 draw with Tottenham and was replaced in the 2-0 loss against Manchester City the previous weekend. Dele (groin), Andre Gomes (calf), and Arnaut Danjuma (ankle) are still out.

Katia Kouyate had another chance to make an impression on Dyche during training. The 20-year-old scored in a 2-1 friendly victory over Stade Nyonnais while practicing with Everton ahead of the season. This season, Kouyate has made ten appearances for the under-21 team and has one goal.
