Craig Moore insists Todd Cantwell’s recent influence on two Rangers stars has been ‘crucial’

Todd Cantwell is back to his best for Rangers, and former Ibrox defender Craig Moore is fully aware of it.

The Australian believes Cantwell’s recent form has boosted the performance of two Rangers players due to the attacking

midfielder’s impact on the pitch.

According to Transfermarkt, Cantwell has scored five Scottish Premiership goals in his last eight appearances, after failing to

score until Christmas Eve against Motherwell.

Despite a knee ailment that affected the start of his season, Philippe Clement has not hesitated to hook the playmaker at half-

time during games under his leadership.

However, he has recently proven to be an invaluable asset to this Rangers team, which appears to be in a great position to

compete for the crown alongside Celtic.

According to FootMob, he is a top-performing attacking midfielder in the Premiership, with 5 goals, 44 shots, 624 effective

passes, and 24 successful dribbles.

Moore, speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, believes Cantwell’s ingenuity and ability to identify open spaces assist

Rangers players like John Lundstram and Rabi Matondo.

Craig Moore on influential Todd Cantwell.

Craig Moore responded to a caller’s question on Todd Cantwell’s recent form for Rangers, stating that he is a fantastic player.

“I’m glad to see that his game, in terms of contribution, now appears to be more significant than taking a hit and milking it a

little bit, because I believe that winds people up more than anything else.

“And we see how outstanding he is technically with vision, passes, combination play; he has goals in his locker.

He’s an extremely essential player right now.

“And what happens when Cantwell is in this frame of mind and playing in this manner? Lundstram, for example, becomes

significantly more positive. Matondo’s mood has suddenly improved significantly.

“I believe his effect on teammates is vital. Not only for Cantwell, but for many of the players, I believe it is critical that they

remain fit for the last stretch.

“European football will come into play, which is another challenge for us, but it is a result of our success in reaching that stage.

“But, without a question, Cantwell plays a significant part. He has the potential to turn the defence into an attack, he takes up

good positions, he can get things started, and he can also deliver.”
