Chris Sutton predicts result of Everton showdown v Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.
Chris Sutton has predicted the outcome of Everton’s next Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace.
The Merseyside team is now 18th in the Premier League table, while the Eagles are in 15th place.
The match will take place on Monday, February 19, at Goodison Park, with Sutton forecasting a 2-0 victory for the home team.
“There has been something of a malaise around Crystal Palace recently, but they were actually very spirited in their defeat against
Chelsea on Monday,” Sutton said in an interview with BBC Sport.
“The Eagles have missed their big guns, however. Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze haven’t played enough this season.
“Everton will see today as a fantastic opportunity to end their lengthy wait for three points, and I am sure Sean Dyche has them
pumped up. They need a win anyhow, but it will be extra critical if the teams around them score earlier in the weekend.
The Toffees and Eagles both need three points from this crucial match, although the former is more desperate at this time in the season.
They have only 19 points from 24 games thus far, having been docked 10 points early in the season for financial irregularities.
Palace, like Everton, lack confidence and need a win to avoid Premier League relegation.
They may already be involved in that tough battle, as the Eagles have only 24 points from 24 matches.
Sean Dyche will be working his squad hard on the training ground ahead of this major game, with the Goodison Park fans expected to be in full voice to support the players under the lights on Monday night.
