Breaking News: Rangers departure is “expected,” and a former Leeds United and West Brom star has
run down his contract agent.
Despite having little playing time because of injuries, the 31-year-old has had an impact in front of goal since moving to Ibrox in 2020.
It has been over two months since he last played in the Scottish Premiership.
It’s becoming more likely, per Football Insider, that he will depart Rangers when his current contract
ends at the end of the season.
According to reports, the Scottish powerhouses will decide against extending
new terms to the forward because to his injury concerns.
Roofe made 122 appearances for Leeds, scoring 33 goals and registering 14 assists before leaving for
Anderlecht in 2019. His spell in
Belgium proved to be a short one and he was recruited by Rangers a year later.
He has earned five caps and declared his international allegiance to Jamaica after leaving Elland Road.
Although Roofe is clearly gifted, if he does decide to leave Ibrox this summer, clubs may be put off by his
injury history.
But his stellar resume might tempt teams to take a chance.
