Crawford Allan, the head of Scottish referees, says VAR will remain a staple of “the Scottish football diet” even if an independent review panel found a significant rise in incorrect calls involving the technology.

Since the season’s beginning, 16 key match incidents (KMIs) have been determined to have had an improper outcome by the IRP; 13 of these KMIs occurred during the second round of championship games. This is an increase from the three incorrect calls from the first round of matches. VAR is still a contentious issue in Scottish football, with some managers voicing their disgust at some of the judgments that are being made.

Crawford Allan, head of referee operations for the Scottish FA, told the BBC that he thinks VAR will continue to improve Scottish football and that it will be used in the league starting in the upcoming season. Without a doubt.
