Source: The Rangers star Borna Barisic decides to go, and there will be a lucrative move

Rangers defender has been informed by insiders that Borna Barisic is prepared to leave the team this summer when his contract expires.

The 31-year-old is now hoping to take advantage of his situation as a free agent during the off-season because his contract expires in May.

Barisic knows that if he leaves Ibrox for free, he can receive a better deal somewhere else.

In addition, Rangers are eager to reduce payroll and open up spots in Philippe Clement‘s team for the summer.

Of the previous ten Scottish Premiership games, the Croatian international has only appeared in three.

With one goal and six assists in 27 games played in all competitions, Barisic has appeared in 22 of them as a member of the starting lineup.

Rangers star Barisic wants to leave Ibrox for a lucrative contract.

Since Clement’s arrival in October, 22-year-old Ridvan Yilmaz has frequently replaced the defender in the lineup.

As his contract expires, Barisic has been linked to teams like Udinese and Dinamo Zagreb in recent months.

In January 2020, the left-back inked his final contract extension, eighteen months before he assisted Steven Gerrard’s team in winning the Scottish Premiership.

After leaving NK Osijek in August 2018, he joined Rangers and has since made 228 appearances, scoring 10 goals and dishing out 54 assists.

As the final stretch draws near, Clement’s is very much in the running for the Scottish Premiership title.

Starting in March, Rangers will also participate in Europa League knockout stage matches.
