Rangers now face battle with Roma to sign ‘phenomenal’ winger

Rangers and Roma are currently vying for a “phenomenal” winger.

Prior to the summer transfer window, Rangers will now have to contend with Roma for the services of Boca Juniors star Luca Langoni.

The goal of the Gers’ move before the transfer deadline was to bring in another winger to try and provide some movement out wide.

The Rangers had needed another natural wide player before the Senegal star’s injury, so their problems were made worse.

Ultimately, Rangers made a move to sign Oscar Cortes, a talented Colombian, on loan from Lens with the intention of making a permanent transfer.

Rangers may have other wingers on their radar, but Cortes appears to be an interesting potential and has started life at Ibrox well.

Roma and Rangers compete for Luca Langoni.

According to reports from January, Rangers reportedly made an attempt to capture Boca Juniors star Lucian Langoni.

Despite rumors that Fulham, Nice, and Sevilla were all interested in Langoni, the January transfer window ended without a deal being struck.

However, news about Langoni has returned because of reports from Boca Noticias that Roma have returned to the race.

It seems that Boca, who thinks he can bring in significant money, may consider a sale if Roma formally expresses interest.

If Langoni remains a major target for the summer, Rangers may be able to offer a more dependable route to first-team involvement, even though playing against Roma looks daunting.

Since Sima is just on loan, Rangers will continue to keep an eye on wide players, while Langoni primarily plays as a right winger.

In 50 games for Boca, the 22-year-old has scored 10 goals and displayed genuine skill.

With comparisons to Manchester City star Julian Alvarez and praise for being “phenomenal,” Langoni appears to have a bright future.

Roma’s interest now poses a serious obstacle to Rangers’ hopes of bringing him to Ibrox and forming a South American double-act with Cortes on the flanks.
