Early Everton team news against Crystal Palace: An update on Abdoulaye Doucoure’s injury.
Ben Dinnery claims that Abdoulaye Doucoure, Seamus Coleman, Amadou Onana, and Ashley Young are getting closer to full fitness, which might give Everton an advantage ahead of their Premier League matchup with Crystal Palace.
The injury specialist, who has collaborated with The Athletic, revealed on his X account [14 February] that Doucoure intends to return from his injury and rejoin the team by Monday, February 19.
After starting their previous two games from the bench, Coleman may start, and Young and Onana are getting closer to playing fully again after their recent injuries.
Since Arnaut Danjuma and Andre Gomes are anticipated to be sidelined for a little while longer, they shouldn’t be eligible to play against Palace.
Everton boosted by fresh injury updates
The match on December 19 vs Palace might be pivotal for Everton’s campaign. The two teams are separated by just five points, and a victory by Sean Dyche’s team may reduce that difference to just two.
The result of their points-deduction appeal might see Everton awarded points back, which would allow them to pass Palace, who are presently ranked 15th in the Premier League, if they are able to get closer to their relegation opponents.
There are rumors that the decision on the points deduction might be decided upon before to the Palace game. Though the amount of time it is taking has recently been criticized, the outcome is expected in the middle of February.
Given that Doucoure is Everton’s best scorer thus far this season and that Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been struggling lately, Dyche will welcome Doucoure’s return greatly.
As the season draws to a close, players are getting back to full fitness at Goodison Park, where every victory from now until May is crucial to their survival.
In other Everton news, Chelsea has begun negotiations to sign a single star from Goodison.
