Rangers manager Philippe Clement downplays criticism directed at Ross McCausland
Ross McCausland, a winger for Rangers and Northern Ireland, has drawn criticism, but Ibrox manager
Philippe Clement has dismissed it, predicting the player would eventually play at the top level in the
sport.
Since Steven Davis elevated McCausland to the first team in October, while his renowned countryman
was acting as temporary manager due to Michael Beale’s resignation, McCausland has performed
admirably.
Under Belgian coach Clement, the 20-year-old has made a name for himself as a consistent starter in the
Ibrox first team. He has also shown maturity both domestically and internationally, earning him his
country’s cap in the last four months.
The wide boy’s displays have attracted some negative comments from a section of the Rangers support in
recent weeks – but Clement has emphasised how happy he is with the player and expressed confidence
the Auchenhowie graduate will continue to flourish
