Rangers demand an immediate meeting with Neil Doncaster and Murdoch McLennan.
Rangers and other SPFL teams have asked to meet with league chairman Murdoch McLennan and CEO Neil Doncaster to talk about issues pertaining to autonomous governance.
Journalist Andy Newport from the Daily Record shared this on X, and Gers received calls from Aberdeen, Livingston, Motherwell, St Johnstone, and St Mirren.
The SPFL chiefs received an official letter stating that the clubs think a meeting between the chairman and chief executive and shareholders would be beneficial for transparency and good governance.
The conference, scheduled for February 27th, is open to all SPFL clubs and is intended to address their grievances and worries over the Independent Governance Review.
Among the SPFL teams aiming for the board are Rangers.
This knowledge was revealed in response to a letter that was first submitted to the chiefs, raising major questions about the governance report’s independence and openness after only one member club was given any opportunity to participate in the inquiry.
The Heart & Hand podcast’s host, David Edgar, asserted that the other SPFL teams are now beginning to realize how badly the league is handled by people in power, with the Rangers having objected to a number of decisions.
The decision-making process at the top of the Scottish game may finally be made transparent if Doncaster and McLennan consent to meet with the clubs. It was formerly veiled in mystery and fear due to a lack of authority.
Though other top-flight clubs have already joined them, disagreements with the authorities seem to periodically hold the Light Blues apart from the rest of the Scottish football pyramid.
In other team news, John Hartson is shocked by the Rangers’ hiring.
