Everton chief sends points deduction appeal message to fans as Premier League still to make announcement

Everton is awaiting word on whether their 10-point deduction for violating the profit and sustainability regulations of the Premier League will be lowered.

Richard Kenyon, the chief commercial and communications officer for Everton, has expressed gratitude to the club’s supporters for their patience while they wait to hear the result of their appeal against the Premier League after being docked ten points.

The Toffees received harsh penalties in November for violating sustainability and profit regulations during the 2021–2022 season. Sean Dyche’s team is now involved in a relegation struggle for the third straight year as a result.

At the very least, a reduction in the sentence is the desired outcome of the appeal hearing that was held earlier this month. The results, nevertheless, have not yet been made public.Everton's appeal against points deduction to start today

In a message to supporters, Kenyon said via the club’s website: “Everyone at the club appreciates that the outcome of our appeal against the 10-point sanction will be foremost in the minds of all Evertonians and we thank you for the incredible support and patience you have shown throughout what has been a difficult period. At this time, there is no update we are able to provide on these matters but please rest assured, we will share any news with you as soon as we are able to do so.”

Season passes for Everton’s final campaign at Goodison Park, 2024–25, are available for renewal starting tomorrow. According to Keyon, a number of events are scheduled to provide the Grand Old Lady with a dignified farewell.

“For our last season at Goodison Park, we already have a tonne of exciting events and activities planned, and later today we will be launching an identity which will underpin the creative campaigns over this period,” he continued. Given the respect in which our current home is rightfully held, I would like to thank our friends at the Everton Heritage Society for supporting this identity and helping to shape some of our plans for what will be an important and memorable time, not only for the club and our supporters, but also for the wider footballing family.”
