in England and joined the team from Crystal Palace.
The 43-year-old would later disclose that, at the time he made the decision to move to Merseyside, he
had offers from both Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers. However, he ultimately stated, “I joined
Everton primarily because I wanted to play for the biggest football club I could.”
