Football at Ohio State: A lengthy list of Buckeyes headed to the NFL Scouting Combine is headlined by Marvin Harrison Jr.

This offseason, Ohio State football is sending a large delegation of talent to the NFL combine. According to Eleven Warriors, former wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is the most prominent former Buckeye going to the scouting session.

After the 2023 season, Ohio State lost a number of talented players to the NFL draft. Marvin Harrison Jr., Miyan Williams, Cade Stover, Matt Jones, Mike Hall, Tommy Eichenberg, Steele Chambers, and Josh Proctor are among the athletes that have been invited to the combine. Pro football gurus believe Harrison Jr. should be selected among the top picks in the NFL draft. In 2023, he was one of the finalists for the Heisman Trophy, which LSU’s Jayden Daniels won.

Football at Ohio State had a good season in 2023, but the Buckeyes’ inability to advance to the Big Ten Championship game was mostly due to their defeat to Michigan. Harrison Jr. ended with five receptions for 118 yards and a touchdown in that game. The receiver had a significant role in Ohio State’s accomplishments this past season. Harrison Jr. had 1,211 receiving yards at the end of the season and 14 touchdowns on 67 receptions. Harrison Jr. recorded ten more receptions in 2022, but his receiving yards were just marginally higher.

Teams use the NFL combine to scout players by putting players to the test in terms of speed, agility, and other attributes. It takes place in Indianapolis from February 26 to March 4.

Ohio State football lost their final two Cotton Bowl games to Missouri and Michigan, ending the season with an 11-2 record. Harrison Jr. skipped the school’s bowl game to aid in his draft preparation.
