He’s Still Quality Operator – Former Scotland Star Backs Celtic Player

Former Scotland star Barry Ferguson has insisted that too much is being made of Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi’s bad form at the moment.Furuhashi has struggled to provide a regular source of goals this season like the previous years and is not looking like the same player that sparkled under former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou. Some have blamed Brendan Rodgers for failing to get the best out of the Japanese forward in the ongoing season.

He did find the back of the net against St. Mirren over the weekend and Ferguson stressed that Furuhashi has not become a lesser player overnight. The former midfielder insisted that most strikers go through patches in their career where they struggle to find the back of the net regularly but it is just a phase.Ferguson is certain that the Celtic striker will regain his old form and start scoring consistently again very soon.

The former Scotland star said on the Go Radio Football Show: “You don’t become a bad player overnight. He is just going through one of those patches that every striker goes through but he is still a quality operator.“I am sure his form will come back pretty soon.”Furuhashi has scored 12 times in 34 appearances in all competitions for Celtic this season.
