Eight Ohio State Players Invited To NFL Combine.
Ohio State will be highly represented in the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, which takes place later this month in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Among the 321 prospects, eight Buckeyes have been asked to complete drills, conduct interviews, and speak with coaches and general managers at the Lucas Oil Stadium combine, which begins on February 26.
The Buckeyes are led by Marvin Harrison Jr., a consensus top receiver prospect. Other former Ohio State players are running back Miyan Williams, tight end Cade Stover, offensive lineman Matt Jones, defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr., linebackers Steele Chambers and Tommy Eichenberg, and safety Josh Proctor.
Harrison will be one of the most sought-after prospects in Indianapolis this week. The two-time All-American and reigning Biletnikoff Award winner placed fourth in the Heisman vote after another 1,000-yard season in Columbus.
Harrison is expected to be the first receiver taken and is seen as a consensus top-five pick. Several evaluators say the 6-4 son of Hall of Fame receiver Marvin Harrison is this year’s top prospect, regardless of position.
Hall, Chambers, and Eichenberg will work out on the field with the rest of the defensive linemen and linebackers on February 29. Proctor and Stover will work out among the other tight end and safety prospects on March 1.
Harrison and Williams will work out alongside the other receivers and running backs on March 2. Jones will participate in on-field drills on March 3 to wrap out the week.
The 2024 draft could be the second time since 2015 that at least two Ohio State players are not taken on Day One. In 2021, the Chicago Bears traded up to get Ohio State’s quarterback 11th overall.
Devin Smith became the first Buckeye to be picked in the second round by the New York Jets with the 37th pick in 2015. The three-day, seven-round NFL draft will take place in Detroit commencing Thursday, April 25.
