Nottingham Forest star Ibrahim Sangare received a congratulatory message from Didier Drogba after Ivory Coast won the African Cup of Nations.
The legendary Ivorian sent the post on Instagram.
So, what has Drogba said to Sangare after the Forest man helped his country claim success? Let’s take a closer look…
What Didier Drogba has said to Forest star Ibrahim Sangare
It seems that Drogba has embraced his achievement, as he was seen celebrating on Sunday night with the current squad.
He appears to have given each player a private message and shared every Instagram post from the current team to his own account.
In the final versus Nigeria, Forest star Sangare played for ten minutes and won more headers than any other player on the pitch.
After Sangare brought his nation to triumph, Drogba was impressed and responded to his Instagram story with nine words.
He said: “At the end of the effort. Well done, son!”
We are of the opinion that Sangare’s limited playing throughout the competition’s knockout stages in the Ivory Coast is a comfort.
He should thus be fired up and prepared to go for the last 14 games of the season when he returns to Forest.
Forest need midfield maestro back quickly
It’s incredible that Forest has foreign players playing on that level, but Sangare and Willy Boly must return to the City Ground for the Reds to succeed.
With a points deduction hanging over the Reds as well, Forest has 14 games left to try to salvage their season.
Since coming to the Premier League in August, Sangare has been catching up.
He may have had his finest Garibaldi performance against Newcastle on Boxing Day, and it’s intriguing to see what Nuno Espirito Santo can achieve with him.
