David Edgar reacts to footage from Rangers dressing room at Auchenhowie

David Edgar responds to video from the Auchenhowie Rangers locker room.

The host of the Heart & Hand podcast, David Edgar, responded to a social media video that appeared to show Mohamed Diomande of the Rangers making fun of Leon Balogun.

It follows the thrilling Africa Cup of Nations championship match on Sunday, February 11, where Diomande’s Ivory Coast defeated Balogun’s Nigeria to win the tournament.

Balogun couldn’t help but retaliate when Diomande showed up at Auchenhowie on Monday wearing an Ivory Coast shirt in celebration of the Elephants’ AFCON victory.

Even though Diomande was not part of the senior team’s success, he was nevertheless excited to show off to his Nigerian colleagues as an Ivory Coast under-23 international.TIn the video, which Balogun posted to his Instagram page, Diomande is seen grinning broadly and swaggeringly displaying his allegiances.

Edgar was able to find humor, though, as the podcast host commented, “Love this,” along with a smiling emoji, in response to the X footage.

Rangers locker room recovery following the Beale tragedy

WBalogun was at least able to find humor in the exchange with Diomande, even if he was undoubtedly sad that Nigeria was not able to win a fourth AFCON championship.

Actually, it speaks volumes about the harmony in the Rangers locker room following Michael Beale’s terrible start to the season, which followed him to Sunderland.

It had appeared that Rangers’ prospects of winning the title would be lost due to a bad start to the season under Beale, but as spring approaches, optimism is returning to Ibrox.

Rangers, the 55-time Scottish champions, are now within striking distance of leaders Celtic after new manager Philippe Clement led the Glaswegian team back into the title race with just one loss in his first 24 games in charge.

In reality, Rangers would be able to take back the top spot in the Scottish Premiership league on Wednesday, February 14, if they defeated struggling Ross County by three goals or more.

With the way Gers supporters already seem to be falling in love with new manager Clement, it would be the ideal Valentine’s Day present.

The “writing’s on the wall” at Ibrox for a first-team player is on his way out, according to other Rangers news.
